02 1 billion investment to create a vertically integrated industrial chain
In June 2023, MTC officially entered the field of optical communication with optical devices and optical modules as the entry point through the acquisition of MTC Ruigu.
Subsequently, in December 2023, the company successively issued the "Announcement on Foreign Investment in the Construction of Optical Communication Semiconductor Laser Chip Projects" and the "Announcement on Foreign Investment in the Construction of Optical Communication High-speed Modules and Optical Device Projects", announcing that it will invest 1 billion yuan to build the "Optical Communication High-speed Module and Optical Device Project (Phase I)" and "Optical Communication Semiconductor Laser Chip Project (Phase I)", with the goal of covering high-speed optical module products with multiple speeds such as 100G and below, 200G, 400G, and 800G. Further realize the vertical integration of laser chips to terminal modules, and build a complete optical communication industry chain platform.
While maintaining the dual main business advantages of intelligent terminals and LED industry chains, MTC continues to promote the diversified development of its business and actively expand the emerging track of optical communication devices. At present, the company has initially built a vertically integrated industrial chain covering optical communication chips, devices and modules, laying the foundation for the company to build a new growth pole. Optical communications have also become a highlight in Zhaochi's 2024 annual report.
03 Increase high-end research and development to seize the future data communication track
It is reported that at present, the optical communication business has become the third key business segment of MTC after intelligent terminals and LEDs.
Looking forward to 2025, the company will continue to deepen its vertical integration layout, focusing on "technology-driven + high-end manufacturing", and promote the upgrading of the optical communication industry to higher transmission rates, lower power consumption, and stronger environmental adaptability.
MTC Group's optical communication business has achieved stable shipments in the optical access network and telecommunications markets, and will gradually extend its products to data communication markets such as cloud computing and big data, as well as emerging application scenarios such as industrial automation and autonomous driving in the future.

In June this year, Dongshan Precision announced that it intends to invest no more than 5.935 billion yuan through its wholly-owned subsidiary to acquire 100% of the equity of Source Photonics, a global optical communication module manufacturer, and fully enter the optical communication industry.
In addition, LED companies such as Qianzhao Optoelectronics, Jufei Optoelectronics, Sanan Optoelectronics, and Ennostar Holdings are also continuing to improve their optical communication business territory.
